A check for $44,000 was presented to the WISD School Board at their regular meeting for 24 Innovative Grants to be awarded this fall.
August 4: WISDEF receives its determination letter from the IRS notifying it that its application for tax exempt status was granted. As a result, any contributions to WISDEF are tax deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code.
August 11: WISDEF and WISD sign a Memorandum of Understanding governing the relationship between the Foundation and the District, and solidifying the partnership between those two entities dedicated to seeing innovation in the classroom.
DECEMBER 10: WISDEF awards 17 grants totaling $22,000 in grant money to WISD teachers after a competitive grant process in the Fall of 2014. More than 40 teachers and hundreds of students were affected by these grant monies, which were the first round of grants given by WISDEF in its first year of fundraising.

We are honored to have been chosen as the Organization of the Year by the Whitehouse Chamber of Commerce.
WISDEF held its inaugural "Celebration of Innovation" to recognize innovative teachers in the school district during this past year. This dinner and program was held at the Whitehouse High School, catered by the WHS culinary department, with entertainment provided by the WHS Jazz Band. The dinner and program featured artwork from the various campuses, video and display presentations showing the grants-in-action in the classroom.
